The Brooklyn Solar Canopy Wins Architectural Record’s Best In Category Award For Buildings Systems And Components.
The Brooklyn Solar Canopy will close out 2018 with yet another top design honor after earning a Record Products Best in Category award for Building Systems and Components. Record Products is an annual design competition curated by Architectural Record, one of the country’s oldest and most highly subscribed architecture and interior design magazines.
The Building Systems and Components category encompasses a range of product verticals including HVAC systems, smart building devices, controls and equipment. As the Best in Category awardee the Brooklyn Solar Canopy received the top numerical ranking among all category winners from the competition’s seven -member jury, which consisted of leading industry practitioners and thought leaders. Juror Maxwell Pau (AIA, LEED AP), a partner at NYC-based Beyer Blinder Belle, praised the canopy for its “valuable functionality” as “an armature for generating power with the ability to inhabit the space beneath it.”
Brooklyn Solar Canopy Co. warmly thanks Architectural Record and the full Record Products 2018 jury panel for the great honor of this award, and for elevating its design achievements among an impressive class of category finalists and fellow awardees. The Record Products 2018 award marks the fourth industry honor that the canopy has garnered this year, following the Architect’s Newspaper’s Best of Design Award (Smart Home Systems), Architizer’s A+ Popular Choice Award (Roofs), and Interior Design Magazine’s NYC x Design’s Product Award (Best of NYC). The canopy’s Record Products 2018 Award is featured in the new December issue of Architectural Record (pg 108).
